Addressing the team’s media, Matilda Otuene-Onyiloha described Domo Okara as a brilliant figure in women’s football whose untimely death has left a huge and profound loss to the women’s game in Nigeria and across Africa, Footballrover reports.

The news of Domo’s death is still like a film trick to us, as we find it difficult to believe that a man who was with us during the Super Six is gone,” she lamented.

Domo Okara’s passing is a significant blow to the women’s football community.

Known for his exceptional coaching skills, he recently led Bayelsa Queens to a third-place finish at the 2024 NWFL Premiership Super Six playoffs in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

She added that, as a club, they will continue to pray for broken hearts to be healed and for such untimely deaths not to occur anymore.
