The match saw FC Robo take the lead just two minutes in through Adegbuyi Kemi after a goalkeeping error, Footballrover reports.

Yahaya Mariam doubled the advantage in the 72nd minute, and Opeyemi Ajakaye sealed the emphatic win four minutes from time, ending Rivers Angels’ ten-game unbeaten streak.

Speaking to the club’s media, Rivers Angels coach Blankson expressed disappointment with the officiating and physical approach of FC Robo.

They didn’t play better; they were only physical. The referee was allowing too much rough and hard contact on my girls, and things like that destabilise them,” he said.

Despite the 3-0 scoreline, coach Blankson, who couldn’t explain what went wrong with his side, insisted his team put in a strong shift.

“We are already in the Super Six; we’ll go back and plan for our next game. We’ll pick from there,” said the PH Angels coach.

He hinted at regrouping and re-strategising, acknowledging that his team must be ready for all styles of play.

“At the end of the day, they have to get ready for any type of football they see sometimes.”
