The Jewel of the Rivers will be vying for a crucial victory and three points against Heartland Queens on Wednesdays in an effort to seal their hopes of a place in the Super Six.

In order for the team to play better, thr Edwin Okon side requested that the match be transferred from their usual home ground, the Uniport Sporting Complex, to the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium.

The request has formally been granted, according to a statement from the league management on their official Twitter account.

The statement reads;

The NWFL have approved the request of Rivers Angels to play their last #NWFLPremiership23 fixture of the regular season at home against Heartland Queens at the refurbished Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadaium on Wednesday, April 12.”

With 16 points, Rivers Angels are currently in third position, 8 points behind Abridged Group A leaders Delta Queens, who became the first team to earn a spot in the NWFL Super Six, and just two points ahead of Naija Ratels.

In a crucial matchup against Heartland Queens of Owerri, where they will be aiming to seal their fate for a position in the Super Six, the Jewel of Rivers appear to be on track to advance.
