Head Coach Augustine Eguavoen announced a 30-man list, with Remo Stars players standing out as the backbone of Nigeria’s campaign to secure qualification, Footballrover reports.

The continental championship, scheduled for February 2025 across Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania, is exclusively for players competing in their country’s domestic leagues.

Remo Stars’ goalkeeper Kayode Bankole, wing-back Ismail Sadiq, defender Junior Nduka, midfielder Jide Fatokun, and forward Sikiru Alimi headline the squad, elevating the club’s reputation as a talent hub within the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

Kano Pillars’ Rabiu Ali, Rivers United’s Steven Mayo, and Enyimba’s Henry Ozoemena also made the list, alongside standout players from clubs such as Nasarawa United, Rangers International, and Abia Warriors.

The selected players are set to report at the Remo Stars Sports Institute in Ikenne-Remo, Ogun State, on December 4, 2024, for intensive training ahead of their clash with Ghana’s Black Stars B.

With five players in the Eagles setup, the Sky Blue Stars continue to redefine player development standards in the NPFL.

This dominance highlights the club’s commitment to nurturing homegrown talent capable of representing Nigeria on the continental stage.

The first leg of the CHAN qualifiers will be played at the Accra Sports Stadium on December 22, with the second leg scheduled for December 28 at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.

Ghana has historically been a stumbling block for Nigeria, and the Super Eagles B will be eager to rewrite this narrative with contributions from the Ikenne side’ contingent.

By positioning themselves as a breeding ground for top-tier footballers, Remo Stars are not just participating in the league—they are shaping its future, one player at a time.
