Remo Stars coach Daniel Ogunmodede expressed joy and excitement after his team’s victory over Enyimba, highlighting the significance of the win in Aba and revealing ambitious goals for the team’s season.
Following their hard-fought narrow victory against Enyimba in Aba, Coach Daniel Ogunmodede expressed immense satisfaction with Remo Stars’ performance, Footballrover reports
“Winning in Aba is not a child’s play. We played against a very strong team, a team that just finished playing in the AFL [African Football League], and you know what that means,” he emphasised, highlighting the challenge they overcame against the formidable defending champions.
In his post-match conference following the rescheduled NPFL matchday five fixture, coach Ogunmodede conveyed his team’s emotions before and after the game, saying,
“The last time [against Doma United], we were all sad; this time we are all happy. This is football; it gives you sad moments, happy moments, and mixed feelings. We’ve all had everything, and today we had the side of happiness. We are happy; we enjoyed the moment.”
Ogunmodede also reflected on their strategic targets for the season’s initial phase, affirming,
“We had targets we set for ourselves for the first ten games of the season. We said to ourselves, after the first ten games of the season, we want to be on top of the table. Now we aim for the sky; we are on the roof,” he said.

Despite being second on the table, the team feels comfortably positioned to pursue loftier aspirations.
“We are not first on the table; we are second and comfortable. For us, our aim for the first ten matches of the season is absolutely achieved,” the coach said.
The NPFL match witnessed a crucial moment when Remo Stars scored the winning goal against Enyimba courtesy of a brilliant header by Samad Kadiri, which was made possible by Sodiq Ismail’s outstanding assist.
This win marked a significant stride in their campaign, boosting team morale and signalling their capability to compete against top-tier opponents.
Coach Ogunmodede and his squad will now shift their attention to their upcoming home game against Plateau United at the Ikenne Stadium on Sunday, aiming to carry forward the momentum gained from their recent success.
