The 23-year-old Nigerian international’s goal, which came early in the second half, helped seal Brugge’s dominant display, Footballrover reports.

Onyedika’s contributions weren’t limited to just the goal—he also displayed excellent passing and composure.

The match was a masterclass in attacking football for Brugge, with Greek forward Christos Tzolis claiming the spotlight by netting a remarkable first-half hat trick.

Tzolis’ goals came in the 12th, 22nd, and 42nd minutes, ensuring Brugge’s early lead.

His fourth goal in the 47th minute continued Brugge’s relentless pursuit of victory, leaving St. Truiden with little chance to respond.

Onyedika, who had started the match, orchestrated much of the play from midfield.

His vision and technical ability were on full display as he consistently linked up with his teammates.

While the Super Eagles midfielder could have had even more assists had his forwards capitalised on his precise passes, Onyedika’s contributions went beyond just creating opportunities.

After the Nigerian found the back of the net in the 51st minute, the floodgates opened further for Brugge.

Ardon Jashari added another goal to make it 6-0, and Hans Vanaken completed the rout by scoring the final goal of the match.

Raphael, who was substituted in the 58th minute, had already made his mark by this point, ensuring his performance was a key factor in Brugge’s triumph.

Statistically, Onyedika enjoyed a standout performance, touching the ball 38 times and making 25 out of 27 passes for a remarkable 93% accuracy rate.

His skillful passing also saw him attempt two shots on goal—one resulting in a goal and the other rattling the woodwork.

Moreover, he also excelled in long passes, completing both of his attempts, while also contributing defensively with a tackle and an interception.
