Philip Azango’s early strike sinks Slovan Bratislava

Philip Azango was the difference-maker as FC Spartak Trnava edged past Slovan Bratislava with a narrow 1-0 victory in Slovakia’s Nike Liga.

The 27-year-old forward found the net just 12 minutes into the Super Liga round 22 clash at the National Football Stadium, and his goal stood firm until the final whistle.

The Nigerian now boasts seven goals this season—five in the league and one each in the Europa Conference League and Slovakia Cup.

With this win, Spartak Trnava extended their unbeaten streak to seven matches (five wins, two draws), moving to third place on the table with 44 points, just five behind league leaders Slovan Bratislava.

Azango and his teammates will now shift focus to their next challenge against Zilina, hoping to keep their momentum alive.

Orji Okoronkwo and Otto John seal crucial wins

In Italy’s Serie B, Okoronkwo was instrumental in Cittadella’s 1-0 away win over Juve Stabia at Stadio Comunale.

Meanwhile, in Libya’s Premier League Group 4, John delivered a dramatic stoppage-time goal to seal Al Madina Tripoli’s 2-0 victory over Al Dahra.

After a tense goalless affair, Sadok Touj broke the deadlock in the 90th minute, and four minutes later, John finished off a swift move, combining with Zambian midfielder Kelvin Kampamba to secure the win.
