Despite Onuachu’s opening goal, Trabzonspor couldn’t hold their lead, eventually losing 3-2 to Besiktas at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium, Footballrover reports.

Onuachu’s goal came just 13 minutes into the game. After receiving a pass near the left touchline, he cleverly let the ball roll under him, deceiving his marker.

He then made a solo run into the box, performed a step-over to outmanoeuvre another defender, and calmly slotted the ball past the goalkeeper.

This was Onuachu’s second goal in four Turkish Cup appearances, bringing his total for the season to 17 goals in 25 matches across all competitions for Trabzonspor.

Trabzonspor held their narrow lead until the 45th minute, when they conceded a penalty, which 32-year-old French star Rachid Ghezzal coolly converted, levelling the score heading into the interval.

Early in the second half, Salih Uçan scored to give Besiktas a 2-1 lead. Nicolas Pepe equalised for Trabzonspor in the 89th minute, but Besiktas’ Al Musrati secured the winning goal in the 94th minute of additional time.

Besiktas was later reduced to ten men in the 99th minute, but it was too late for Onuachu and his teammates as the final whistle ended their hopes of a title this season.
