Odion Ighalo has continued his impressive form in the Saudi Pro League this season with another goal to his name as Al-Wehda and Al-Akhdoud battled to a 1-1 draw on Thursday evening.
The Nigerian forward found himself on the scoresheet in the first period of the game, with both sides sharing the spoils at Prince Hathloul Sports City, Footballrover reports.
It took the Nigerian superstar just 12 minutes into the game to show why he’s the king of the Saudi Pro League.
He delivered a thunderbolt strike from outside the 18-yard box, handing the visitors the lead.
Unfortunately for Ighalo and his teammates, Collado’s neat finish handed Al-Akhdoud a crucial equaliser, cancelling out his early opener.
The scoreline remained unchanged heading into the interval.
The second half resumed with both teams pushing hard for a crucial winning goal, but neither could capitalise on their chances, resulting in a stalemate.
Odion Ighalo’s goal follows his end to a three-month goal drought with a Man of the Match performance against Al-Khaleej, where he scored a brace to secure Al-Wehda a 2-1 win.
The former Manchester United star has now scored three goals in his last three games for Al-Wehda.
The 34-year-old Nigerian forward was in action for over 90 minutes, registering just one shot, which managed to hit the target.
With his goal contribution against Al-Akhdoud, the former Super Eagles star now has 15 goals in 31 Saudi Pro League games.

Following the 1-1 draw, Al-Wehda’s struggles continue as the league winds down. They remain in 13th place with just 36 points, six points ahead of their hosts.
With one game left to play against league leaders Al-Hilal next Monday, Odion Ighalo will be hoping to finish the season on a high note.
