Paul Onuachu: The Unstoppable Force in Super Lig
The former Southampton star did more than just find the back of the net; he dominated the pitch by winning a game-high 10 duels, displaying his physical presence and importance to the team.
Onuachu has now scored in 𝙏𝙀𝙉 consecutive games for Trabzonspor!
The 31-year-old Nigerian international has now registered 21 goals and two assists in the Turkish top flight this season.
When including his two goals in the Turkish Cup, his total goal contributions for the campaign stand at an impressive 25.
Breaking Records: A Historic Goal-Scoring Run for Trabzonspor
The decisive moment arrived just six minutes into the second half. After a cagey opening period where both sides struggled to break the deadlock, Onuachu scored with a clinical tap-in.
That single strike was enough to seal all three points and send the home fans into raptures.
With this latest goal, Onuachu becomes the first Trabzonspor player since 1992 to score in eight consecutive league games.
While he stole the spotlight, his compatriot Ibrahim Olawoyin featured for the visitors before being replaced by Emrecan Bulut in the 86th minute.
Following this slim victory, the Black Sea Storm has extended their unbeaten run to five matches across all competitions.
They firmly hold third place in the table with 57 points from 26 matches.
The team now shifts its focus to Wednesday’s clash against Eyupspor before a high-stakes showdown with league leaders Galatasaray.
