2023 NWFL Premiership Super 6 put to hold indefinitely

The upcoming Nigeria Women’s Football League Premiership, NWFL Super 6 has been ordered to be postponed by the Nigeria Women’s Football League management.2023 NWFL Premiership Super 6 put to hold indefinitely

Six clubs, including titleholders Bayelsa Queens, Confluence Queens, Robo Queens, and Edo Queens, were scheduled to compete in the championship playoff event, which was scheduled to take place in Asaba, Delta State, between May 5 and May 12.

In a statement released on Tuesday, May 2, the NWFL’s Chief Operating Officer, Modupe Shabi, acknowledged the postponement.

She stated that the next Super 6 tournament date will be set following the inaugural WAFU-B U20 Women’s Cup in Ghana, which will take place from May 20 to June 3 in Kumasi.

In due course, NWFL will provide further Super Six updates.

Meanwhile, starting on Friday, May 19, 2023, the NPFL Super 6 Playoff will be held at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, Lagos.

The NPFL23 champions, CAFCL (2nd) and CAFCC (3rd) reps will be decided by a round robin format against six teams from Groups A and B (three each).
