This accomplishment surpasses the record set by Andrew Johnson of Crystal Palace in the 2004-05 season, as no other player from a newly promoted club has scored the opening goal more times in a single season (9).
Notably, Taiwo Awoniyi becomes the first Nottingham Forest player since the 1994/95 season to score more than ten goals in the Premier League, an achievement he accomplished during his debut season.
