Missed chances cost Manchester United victory over Watford as they were held to a goalless draw during their Premier League at Old Trafford on Saturday evening.
Manchester United performed admirably well in the first half, controlling majority of possession but were unable to grab that decisive goal.
Even though they didn’t give De Gea much to think about on the other end of the pitch, Watford looked far more solid.
Ronaldo thought he has scored for United in 30th minute, but his strike hit the right side of the post, while Fernandes got the closest to scoring for United, missing two one-on-one opportunities.
In the first half, the Red Devils United had 67% possession and ten shots, seven of which were within the box but just one of which was on target.
Manchester United continued to put pressure on Watford in the second half, hoping to score at least one goal, but they were unable to achieve their target.

Watford put up a valiant effort, but they didn’t appear to be in a position to score, as they held on for a clean sheet and an important point.
Boos reverberate throughout Old Trafford following United’s goalless draw.
The Red Devils remain in fourth place in the Premier League league, but they miss out on the chance to strengthen their lead over Arsenal, who are only two points behind them with three games remaining.
Rangnick’s team had 22 shots, but only three of them were on target. United’s failure to eliminate smaller opponents have cost them the game.
38 – Ben Foster (38y 329d) becomes the oldest visiting goalkeeper to keep a clean sheet against Manchester United at Old Trafford in the Premier League. Indeed, the previous oldest visiting keeper to achieve this feat was David Seaman (38y 231d) for Arsenal in May 2002. Shutout. pic.twitter.com/fm5wGzfVZP
