Super Eagles star, Victor Osimhen, scored his 30th goal of the season across all competitions as Bologna made a comeback to secure a draw against Napoli, the champions of Serie A, on Sunday afternoon.
Despite scoring two goals at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara, the Napoli hitman couldn’t help but watch Bologna recover from a losing position to end the game in a 2-2 draw in round 37 Serie A fixture.
Bologna surprised Napoli in the final moments of the match on Sunday, denying them a comfortable victory.
Victor Osimhen took advantage of an early mistake by Lukasz Skorupski to score the opening goal, and later added a second goal for himself and Napoli with a strong finish into the opposite corner of the net after 54 minutes.
However, Lewis Ferguson reduced the deficit just after the hour mark, and with only six minutes remaining, De Silvestri scored a header to equalize.
Napoli had to hold on desperately as Nicola Sansone’s potential winning goal was disallowed due to an offside flag.
With his brace against Bologna, Osimhen, the Super Eagles striker, maintains his position as the top scorer in the league, with 25 goals, four more than Lautaro Martinez, the second-placed striker from Inter Milan.
In the upcoming Serie A game against Sampdoria at the Diego Armando Maradona stadium on Sunday, Osimhen will undoubtedly be eager to grab the Golden Boot.
