Neymar, Coutinho net penalty as Brazil demolish Chile

Neymar, Coutinho, Vinicius and Richarlison were all on target as Brazil demolish Chile 4-0 at home to continue their stunning form in the World Cup qualifying campaign.

Brazil has won eight of their eight home matches in the World Cup qualifying season, including a 4-0 triumph over Chile.

The hosts did the damage in the first half as two goals from Neymar and Vinicius gave them a comfortable advantage, but they were briefly pulled back after Vidal’s near-post effort found its way past Alisson shortly after the break.

Chile joy was cut short after the goal was called off due to offside in the build-up, before Coutinho then put the game out of reach with a spot-kick after Bravo’s foul on Antony 18 minutes from time.

The Aston Villa man – Philippe Coutinho came off the bench last night to score his 20th goal for Brazil from the penalty spot.Neymar, Coutinho net penalty as Brazil demolish Chile

After an outstanding performance at the Maracana, a late Richarlison score completed the misery for Chile, making it back-to-back four-goal performances for the Selecao.

With one match left, the victory put Brazil seven points ahead of Argentina, who will be heading into their encounter against Venezuela tomorrow, while the loss leaves Chile in fifth position.

On Tuesday, Brazil returns to action as they travel to Bolivia. Chile will finish their campaign at home against Uruguay on the same day.
