Super Eagles shotstopper Maduka Okoye has helped Udinese claim their third clean sheet of the season, standing tall as his team beat Cagliari 2-0 at the Bluenergy Stadium on Friday night.
The 25-year-old Nigerian goalkeeper put on an impressive display; his composed control and pinpoint distribution were key to Udinese’s success, Footballrover reports.
His performance held Cagliari at bay, marking a memorable milestone for both him and his team.
The Bianconeri were determined to turn their luck around, having faced a narrow defeat against Milan in their last Serie A outing.
From the opening whistle, Udinese showed their intent, maintaining steady control of the ball and applying pressure on Cagliari’s backline.
Early in the game, Sandi Lovrić had a chance to strike, but Cagliari’s keeper Simone Scuffet thwarted the attempt with a swift dive.
Cagliari’s fortunes took a sharp turn when Antoine Makoumbou received a second yellow card just 30 minutes in, forcing his side to play with ten men.
Udinese capitalised on their numerical advantage, and eight minutes later, Lorenzo Lucca’s powerful header from a Hassane Kamara cross broke the deadlock.

The second half saw the Udinese pushing to increase their lead. Lovrić came close again, but his shot barely missed the target, sailing just wide of the right post. 
However, with 10 minutes left on the clock, Keinan Davis took matters into his own hands, surging into the box and sending a fierce strike into the top-right corner, securing the vital victory.
