It was indeed a thrilling night in the Turkish Super Lig encounter as Galatasaray secured secured a 3-0 away win over Antalyaspor, but the spotlight was stolen by one man—Victor Osimhen.
Making a much-anticipated return from injury, the familiar face wasted no time in making his presence felt, Footballrover reports.
He had only just stepped onto the pitch when, in stunning fashion, he found the back of the net.
Victor Osimhen’s long-awaited return was nothing short of dramatic. After missing a key period due to injury, the Nigerian international was thrust into action late in the game, and what followed left fans stunned.
His short spell on the field was enough to remind everyone of his lethal instincts.
Osimhen’s electrifying return was a joy to watch
Having been sidelined for weeks, Galatasaray coach Okan Buruk decided to ease him back, starting the Super Eagles star on the bench.
Mauro Icardi’s two first-half goals had already placed the Turkish champions in a comfortable position, but when Osimhen entered in the 78th minute, the excitement levels soared.
It took just two minutes for the 25-year-old striker to make his mark. Set up beautifully by Roland Sallai, Osimhen displayed impeccable control in the box before launching a sensational volley into the bottom corner.
While the goal was initially ruled out for offside, it was only a prelude to what was coming.
Undeterred, Osimhen came close to scoring twice more. His towering header in stoppage time forced a brilliant save from the opposition’s goalkeeper, but the striker’s persistence paid off.
Moments later, he sealed the victory with a superb acrobatic finish, marking his third goal in just four league appearances.
