Leroy Sane has finally revealed the surprising truth behind his move to Galatasaray, despite tempting offers from Bayern Munich and strong interest from Arsenal.

The German winger arrived in Istanbul to a hero’s welcome, draped in a Galatasaray scarf, and keen to explain his unexpected decision, Footballrover reports.

So, what made Cimbom the clear choice for Leroy Sane? He points to four key factors that sealed the deal.

First, he was deeply impressed by the “atmosphere” he had experienced there before.

“The atmosphere here was always amazing. It was very, very loud. That’s why I’m happy to be back,” he told Turkish media.

This powerful fan base clearly played a big role in the decisions of the 29-year-old forward. Second, the sheer “size of the club” greatly appealed to him.

“There were many offers. But Galatasaray as a whole impressed me greatly,” Sané noted.

Third, Sane emphasised “how much they wanted me“. This strong desire from The Yellow-Reds was crucial.

Finally, he was impressed by “how much interest they showed in me“. Unlike some other clubs, The Lions acted quickly and decisively, which appealed to Sane’s desire for an immediate decision.

While Arsenal monitored his situation, they weren’t assertive enough, allowing Galatasaray to swoop in.

Aside from these reasons, the financial package was certainly appealing, with Sane reportedly set to earn a massive £11 million per season.
