AFCON Qualifier: Kamory Doumbia net Brace as Mali Thrash South Sudan

Kamory Doumbia turned hero for Mali in their Group G, Round 6 match of the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, which took place yesterday at Stade 26 Mars in Bamako, grabbing a brace during the match and leading his side to victory against South Sudan.AFCON Qualifier: Kamory Doumbia net Brace as Mali Thrash South Sudan

Kamory Doumbia scored a goal in each half of the match to guarantee the maximum three points for the Les Aigles of Mali.

Doumbia scored his brace in the 29th and 57th minutes of the first and second halves for the Malians second and third goals of the match.

Ibrahim Kone opened the floodgate of goals for the hosts early in the 10th minute of the first half.

Nene Dorgeles, who assisted Kamory Doumbia’s first goal, scored the fourth goal to complete a 4-0 rout by the Malians against a hapless South Sudan side.

Mali qualified for Cote d’Ivoire 2024 as Group G leaders with 15 points.

Gambia, with one outstanding match, is following closely with 9 points. The Congo Republic is third with 6 points, while South Sudan has 3 points.

At Stade de Marrakech in Morocco, the Group B, round 6, match between Burkina Faso and Eswatini ended goalless after ninety match regulations.

Burkina Faso leads group B with 11 points after playing the last round of group matches.

Cape Verde, with one outstanding match, is second with 10 points, while Togo, also with one outstanding match, is third in the group.

Eswatini has 3 points after 6 rounds of group matches.
