Juliet Sunday made history over the weekend as she became the first Nigerian female player to score a double hat trick in the Israeli Women’s Premier League, netting an astonishing seven goals as Hapoel Beer Sheva thrashed Hapoel Petach Tikva 9-2 over the weekend.

The 27-year-old forward put on a historic show at the Reiser Sport Complex Field 3 during the relegation playoff Group B clash that turned into a goal fest, Footballrover reports.

Juliet Sunday powers Hapoel Beer Sheva to glory

With 11 goals scored, the spotlight belonged solely to Juliet, who emerged as the undisputed player of the match.

The former Bayelsa Queens star delivered one of the most dominant performances ever seen in the Israeli top flight.

Although her record-breaking feat secured three points for her team, it failed to make much impact for Beer Sheva in their campaign.

Beer Sheva flew out of the traps, netting twice in the opening five minutes. Petach Tikva responded bravely, pulling one back in the 9th and equalising in the 22nd minute.

But the turning point came just four minutes later when Petach Tikva saw red and were reduced to ten players.

From then on, it was the Juliet show.

The Nigerian forward restored Beer Sheva’s lead in the 34th minute and never looked back, adding six more goals to her tally as the hosts ran riot.

Petach Tikva simply couldn’t cope with the pressure, and their woes deepened with two more red cards in the 79th minute and a minute later, forcing them to finish the game with just eight players.

Beer Sheva added five second-half goals in a 31-minute blitz, with Sunday’s ruthless finishing and relentless energy leaving a shell-shocked Petach Tikva in tatters.

Hapoel Beer Sheva bounce back in style

This emphatic win marked Hapoel Beer Sheva’s first victory in their last five outings, snapping a streak of four straight defeats in the Ligat Al Women.

Though the team remains rock bottom with 13 points—still 26 points behind their visitors in the relegation battle—Juliet Sunday’s heroics were merely a joy giver.

The Nigerian striker has been one of Hapoel Beer Sheva’s standout players all season and is strongly tipped to win the club’s Player of the Season award.

With this record-setting performance, Juliet Sunday has not only carved her name into Israeli football history but also raised the bar for Nigerian forwards in the league.
