Nigerian forward Johnbosco Kalu has continued from where he left, scoring yet again for IFK Varnamo as they came from behind to snatch a late draw against BK Hacken.
Johnbosco Kalu turned hero for his side, scoring a 98th-minute equaliser in a match that also featured his fellow Nigerian Jonathan Rasheed in goal for IFK Varnamo, Footballrover reports.
The forward registered his fifth goal in four games to propel IFK Varnamo to a 2-2 draw on Saturday afternoon.
BK Hacken looked set for a comfortable victory after racing to a 2-0 lead heading into the interval, courtesy of an own goal by Hampus Nasstrom and a Zeidane Inoussa strike.
However, a resilient performance from their hosts saw them claw their way back into the game.
Gustav Engvall’s goal in the 52nd minute ignited hope for a comeback, and it was ultimately realised deep into stoppage time.
The 26-year-old Nigerian striker proved to be the hero, netting the equaliser in the 98th minute to salvage a point for his team in the thrilling encounter.
That dramatic late goal will undoubtedly be remembered as a turning point in the match, denying BK Hacken a crucial three points.
His partner Jonathan Rasheed stayed firm in goal but couldn’t help concede two goals before the final whistle.
Kalu’s goal against Hacken at the Finnvedsvallen stadium continues his amazing scoring record in the Swedish Allsvenskan.
This excellent form brings Kalu’s score to seven goals in only 11 Allsvenskan matches this season.
He played the entire 90 minutes and had a well-rounded effort, including creating two big chances.
Following the 2-2 draw, Johnbosco Kalu and his teammates slide down to 10th place in the 16-team league standings with 18 points.
While they still trail league leaders Malmö by a large margin of 20 points, they are not so comfortably out of relegation, sitting only two points above the drop zone.
