The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Selected team faced a crushing defeat against Indo Rockets in a friendly game at the Uyo Township Stadium on Thursday.
The encounter, filled with excitement, resulted in a high-scoring thriller, but SWAN Selected ultimately fell short, losing by a huge margin at the Uyo Township Stadium, Footballrover reports.
Despite a thrilling clash that saw eight goals scored, SWAN Selected lost 5-3 to Indo Rockets.
The Nigerian Journalists, in Uyo to cover the World Cup qualifying series between the Super Eagles and South Africa, were tested by Indo Rockets in a match that lived up to its billing.

SWAN Selected entered the match brimming with confidence, having previously enjoyed a comfortable 3-1 win over Akwa Sports Arena in 2018, but this time around, they faced a stronger opponent.
This was their first appearance in Uyo, six years after their last triumph.
Head Coach, Adepoju Tobi Samuel handed debuts to Rangers International General Manager Amobi Ezeaku, NPFL Tori boss Christopher Emenyonu, and Rivers Angels Media Officer Faith Oluchi, while Captain Fisayo Dairo and Andrew Randa were also part of the 23-man squad.
However, top scorer Adams Jesse was absent due to injury, and China Acheru’s return from retirement was cut short by a recurring hamstring issue.
Despite the spirited efforts from SWAN Selected, which saw Amobi Ezeaku score a brace and Sulaimon Adebayo (Pooja) add another goal, Indo Rockets proved to be the superior side, dominating the game with relative ease.
However, fans at the Uyo Township Stadium were treated to an entertaining match with plenty of goals and excitement.
