The city of Uyo is set to witness a thrilling ceremony where Remo Stars and Enyimba will go head-to-head as the tenth edition of the Nigeria Pitch Awards takes place at the Ibom Hotel and Golf Resorts on Saturday.
According to Shina Phillips, the chief organiser, the event promises to be a memorable one, filled with pomp, pageantry, and glamour, Footballrover reports.
Shina Phillips added that all necessary measures are being taken to ensure a successful event.
He also mentioned that the organisation is committed to supporting the Super Eagles in their upcoming match and appreciated the support received from the NFF, Super Eagles, friends, partners, and affiliates over the past decade.
All 18 award categories have nominees, with winners to be announced on Saturday. Remo Stars and Enyimba FC lead the pack, with multiple nominations in various categories.
The awards recognise outstanding performances in Nigerian football, including Goalkeeper of the Year, Defender of the Year, Midfielder of the Year, Striker of the Year, and more.
The event also looks to honour media representatives with categories like Football Journalist of the Year (print, TV, radio, and online).
There are also awards for State With The Best Grassroots Football Development Programme, Football Pitch of the Year, and Football-Friendly Governor of the Year.
The Nigeria Pitch Awards have consistently promoted transparency, integrity, and credibility in the Nigerian football industry.
This year’s edition promises to be a spectacular celebration of Nigerian football’s finest, with Remo Stars and Enyimba FC vying for top honours.
