Fulham head coach Marco Silva has heaped praise on Alex Iwobi following the Super Eagles star’s incredible performance in their 3-1 victory over Brighton and Hove Albion.
The midfielder scored a stunning brace, solidifying his importance to the team while showing off his versatility and goal-scoring prowess, footballrover reports.
Iwobi opened the scoring early, capitalising on a defensive error by Brighton in the fourth minute.
He then sealed the win with a superb curling effort in the 84th minute, capping off an exceptional display.

Silva, who has coached Iwobi at three different clubs—Arsenal, Everton, and now Fulham—did not hold back in his admiration.
“I’ve always believed in Him. I know Alex very well; I took him from Arsenal to Everton. I took him from Everton to Fulham. I can use him in many different ways. Scoring many more goals, he is so important for us. He played in a slightly different position; he’s been incredible. He was fantastic tonight,” Silva said.
The Portuguese manager expressed his confidence in Iwobi’s potential, stating that he had predicted a great season for him during the pre-season, even though not everyone agreed at the time.
According to the gaffer, last season was likely the player’s best so far, but this season has been even better.
He highlighted the player’s versatility, which allows for tactical flexibility during games without needing substitutions.
Silva’s faith in Iwobi has proven justified, as the Nigerian international has embraced his expanded role with confidence.
Against Brighton, Iwobi operated in three different positions, demonstrating the tactical adaptability that Silva praised.
The coach also reflected on the significant investment the club made to sign the Nigerian midfielder last season, affirming that it was a decision based on recognising his immense potential.
With 24 games remaining, Iwobi is just one goal contribution shy of his best-ever season in the Premier League.
Fulham will now look to the midfielder for inspiration as he prepares to face his former side Arsenal at Craven Cottage on Sunday.
