Unexpectedly, Kylian Mbappe has claimed that he cannot wait for Lionel Messi to rejoin the PSG squad so that they can continue to win games and score more goals.

The Frenchman also revealed that he had a conversation with the legendary Barcelona player after the World Cup championship final and congratulated him, adding that everyone was looking forward to his return to the French team.

The PSG attacker said it is not his problem if Emiliano Martinez celebrates in any form after winning the 2022 FIFA World Cup, adding that he doesn’t waste energy on such things.

The PSG star stated this on Wednesday after their narrow victory over Strasbourg at Parc des Princes.

The 24-year-old produced a late winner on Wednesday night to help PSG get their season back up and running after the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Just 14 minutes into the game, Marquinhos gave the Ligue 1 powerhouses the lead, putting the first half of play in the home team’s favor.

Following some solid work from Thomasson, Marquinhos scored an own goal six minutes into the second period to tie the score for Strasbourg.

The situation for PSG got worse when Neymar was given two cautions in as many minutes, leaving them down a man with 30 minutes left to play.

From that point on, the teams battled opportunities, and it appeared as though Strasbourg may even win, but a last-gasp penalty for Kylian Mbappe saw the World Cup’s Golden Boot winner convert with style to clinch the three points just before the end of regulation time.

Kylian Mbappe had numerous opportunities in this game that were lost, but all five of his shots were on goal the entire time, and he later delivered the game-winning goal from 12 yards with the final one of those five.

He had 12 duels, eight of which involved dribbles, 15 touches in the box, completed 30 passes in the final third, won four free kicks, and made two tackles.

While speaking to reporters shortly after the game, Kylian Mbappe said;

“Emiliano Martinez’s celebrations? It’s not my problem. I don’t waste energy on such things. The most important thing for me is to give the best of myself for my club. I’m waiting for Leo to comeback so we keep winning together and scoring more goals”

The PSG forward added;

“I spoke with Messi after the World Cup final match, I congratulated him. We are all waiting for him to return. We all miss him”
