But for Ifeoma Onumonu, this victory meant much more—it marked the end of her 52-day goal drought, a frustrating spell that had left her searching for form.

The Nigerian forward not only found the back of the net but also provided an assist, playing a crucial role in her team’s emphatic comeback after three straight defeats.

After a red-hot streak of six goals in five consecutive games, Onumonu unexpectedly hit a dry spell, failing to score in four straight matches.

Coming off a 4-1 loss to Paris Saint-Germain, Montpellier needed a response—and they delivered in spectacular fashion.

After a cagey first half, Coquet opened the scoring in the 49th minute, only for Monique Ngock to equalise for Reims moments later.

With this crucial win, Montpellier moved up to 6th place with 22 points, ending a frustrating three-game losing streak.

Ifeoma Onumonu and her teammates will now shift focus to their next fixture against Saint-Étienne next Sunday.
