Nigerian forward Akor Adams continued his impressive form in France with a decisive brace and an assist for Ligue 1 side Montpellier in their 4-0 win over Feignies Aulnoye in Coupe de France on Wednesday night.
Adams came off the bench to steal the show, scoring two goals and setting up another in just 19 minutes of action, Footballrover reports.
His performance helped Montpellier reach the round of 16 in the French Cup.
Adams Dazzles off the Bench
Adam added a second goal two minutes after replacing Arnaud Nordin, doubling Montpellier’s lead, that had already been established by Becir Omeragic’s goal in the 58th minute.
In the 90th minute, he went on to assist Sacha Delaye to increase the lead to 3-0 before clinching the victory with his second goal of the match.
Ending a Goal Drought
Despite featuring for just 19 minutes, Adams made his presence felt, ending a 10-match-goal drought for the Ligue 1 side.
This Performance brings his season-tally to nine goals in 19 matches for all competitions, just one goal shy of double digits.
Showing What He Could Have Offered
Recall that 23-year-old attacker was left out of the Super Eagles’ team for the current Africa Cup of Nations 2023 in Cote d’Ivoire.
But in response, he gave coach Jose Peseiro a clear demonstration of what he could have brought to the team with his two goals and an assist for Montpellier.
Adams’ impressive Season
Adams has been in fine form for Montpellier this season, and his performance against Feignies Aulnoye was just the latest example of his ability.
