The Nigerian is one of a generation of outstanding players currently playing for the Italian team, Napoli, who are currently atop Serie A and are poised to win their first Scudetto since 1990.

Osimhen insists he wants to experience achievement and win titles with Napoli before thinking about his next club, despite the fact that Napoli are willing to sell the striker come the summer.

While speaking to II Mattino, Osimhen said;

Napoli is one of the best clubs in Europe and I want to win here. The future is this moment, try to win something relevant in Italy. It’s hard to think about something better than Napoli, one of the best clubs in Italy, right now. I am only focused on this season because we haven’t done anything yet. We must win something and then we’ll see what happens.”

The 23-year-old has nine goals and two assists in 11 Serie A games this season, and he presently sits at the top of the Italian scoring list.

Meanwhile, the Super Eagles striker has also come out to refute claims that he has kept his face mask on so that opponents will be more alarmed of his prowess.

Victor Osimhen, however, revealed that he continued to don the mask because it shields his face and makes him feel at ease.

Osimhen said as per Napoli Magazine;

The injury was heavy, that was the reason for the operation and the long period in which I was out. I really don’t think about removing the mask for now. The mental aspect has nothing to do with it.”

He added that

The mask is physical protection and I wear it keep it. It’s not a superstitious thing, I’m more relaxed like this. I protect my face better by wearing it and don’t take it off.”

On January 4, Napoli will make their Serie A comeback in a challenging trip to San Siro against Inter Milan.
