Its game over for Nigeria as their desire to see Chelsea youngster, Carney Chukwuemeka starts representing the Super Eagles at international level has been washed off completely.
The youthful offensive midfielder declared that playing for England at the senior level is his goal.
Carney and his older brother Caleb Chukwuemeka, who were born in Austria to parents from Nigeria, but came to London when they were very young.
They can choose to represent Nigeria, England, or Austria as a result of this, and the Chelsea wonderkid didn’t waste any time to make up his mind.
The teenager outlined his goals for the coming year and said that earning his official England debut and playing in EURO 2024 would be a dream come true for him.
While speaking to Chelseaβs 5th Stand, the 19-year-old noted;
“In 2023, I want to kick on and break into the team,” Chukwuemeka told Chelsea’s 5th Standard Application. To make my Champions League debut. To keep my confidence high. To build on my past performances.”
The midfielder further stressed;
“And so much as it was my dream to play for Chelsea, it’s also my dream to play for my country England. I’ve set myself this goal to play at EURO 2024.”

Chukwuemeka was acquired by Todd Boehly for Β£20 million from Aston Villa, but since joining the Blues, he has only played in three matches, partly as a result of an injury that ruined much of his season.
