It was a final match that was filled with melodramatic narratives particularly in the second half of the match.

The first half was won and lost at the bench as Argentine handler, Lionel Scaloni, had upper hand against France’s Didier Deschamps.

France lost the tactics by focusing too much attention on and PSG Superstar – Lionel Messi, while his teammate Di Maria ended up as tormentor-in -chief for the Champions.

Argentina no doubt, dominated play in the first half by consistently raiding France defence in the first 30 minutes of the match.

France only attempt in Argentina goal area was in 13th minute of the first half and the move was punctuated by the Argentine defence.

These ceaseless attacks on France defence led to Argentina first goal in 26th minute of the first half after Di Maria was brought down inside France goal area.

Polish Referee – Szymon Marciniak, wasted no time in awarding a penalty to Argentina, Lionel Messi stepped up and effortlessly put the ball in France net for the Argentine first goal of the match.

Di Maria made it 2-0 for Argentina in 36th minute of the half after receiving a pass from Alexis Mac Allister.

It was, however, another Lionel Messi’s build up that culminated into the killer pass that led to the second goal for France.

France, however, staged a miraculous comeback in 80th and 81st minutes of the second half of the match with PSG Super Star, Kylian Mbappe, scoring two goals in 2 minutes making it his 7th (seventh) goal in Qatar 2022 World Cup.

He scored a volley and a penalty after substitute – Randal Kolo Muani, was brought down by Argentine defender, Otamendi in 80th minutes of the second half.

The match ended 2-2 and went into extra time after 90 minutes of regulation time.

Lionel Messi turned the match around for Argentina when he scored the third goal in 108th minute of second half of extra time, and his 7th for Qatar 2022 World Cup.

Mbappe made history after scoring his 8th goal in the championship through a penalty to make it 3-3 for France in 116 minutes of the extra time.

The two teams went into penalties after 30 minutes of extra time and Argentina scored four penalties as against France’s two to emerge the 2022 World Cup Champions in Qatar.
