Frank Lampard, the interim manager of Chelsea has declared that the Blues fans who were booing the players don’t actually realize how difficult the job is.
The former Chelsea player insisted that he wasn’t being condescending or anticipating that they would comprehend what goes on behind the scenes.
Following their 2-0 setback to Brentford on Wednesday, Frank Lampard expressed sympathy for the disappointed supporters and insisted he was okay with them jeering his players, who undoubtedly lacked confidence.

Since Lampard took over as interim manager earlier in April, the Blues have lost each of their five games, and they are currently stuck in 11th position in the Premier League standings.
A plainly confused Cesar Azpilicueta’s own goal gave Chelsea away early in the game, and Bryan Mbeumo’s game-ending strike sealed the win and all three points for Brentford late in the contest.
In his post-game press conference, Lampard received accusation of protecting his players, a charge he didn’t take well to, claiming that the accusers failed to recognize how difficult the job of managing Chelsea is.
“And so when I hear I’m exonerating the players – far from it. I’m just supporting them in the fact that they’re in there disappointed because they performed like they wanted to win it.” – he said.
The Chelsea caretaker added that;
“I defend the players because I know that they’re young lads who want to do well. Is there an issue with confidence? Yeah. Is there an issue with the balance of the squad? Maybe yeah. But when I say people don’t understand how hard the job is I’m not patronising everybody and expecting them to have an idea of what’s going on behind the scenes, but when you work with it, you understand it’s the Premier League.”
The Chelsea veteran claims that the fans are concerned because they are accustomed to 20 years of success and now desire it more.
Frank Lampard stated that he has no issue with the Chelsea fans booing players and that he won’t go against the supporters and tell them to stop.
“Are we disappointed we didn’t win it? Yes. Are we dynamic enough in the final third? No. Have we been for a long time before I came here? No. So those things won’t turn overnight. We have to keep working.” – Lampard said.
Lampard asserted that he comprehends the booing supporters’ desire for the squad to succeed. The crowd applauds when they win, but he can understand their disappointment when they also get to lose.
