Mikel Arteta claims that Arsenal’s humiliating defeat in the hands of their Premier League title rivals, Man City on Wednesday night is a difficult one to swallow after giving it some serious thought.
The Premier League leaders dramatically relinquished the title race to rivals Man City after losing 4-1 to the defending champions at the Etihad Stadium to reduce the point differential to just two.
The host team totally eclipsed the league leaders throughout the whole game, which led to the lopsided score against the Mikel Arteta side.

De Bruyne raced onto Haaland’s ball and found the bottom corner to give the home team the lead as they gained control of the match.
It took a save from Ramsdale and a block from White to deny the Norwegian striker a goal of his own, before Stones’ second-half goal doubled City’s lead.
After a VAR review, the goal was awarded to the center-back who successfully headed in De Bruyne’s free kick.
Nine minutes after the break, De Bruyne and Haaland teamed up again, with the Belgian international sprinting down the left side of the box before curving in his shot.
Holding smashed in a consolation before Haaland scored his 49th goal of the season in all competitions, blasting his shot past Ramsdale after teaming up with Foden this time around.
However, Mikel Arteta implored his team and Arsenal supporters to take the humiliating setback as reality and move on to the upcoming games.
Reflecting on a tough night in Manchester, the Arsenal boss, who was saddened by the outcome of the event told the team media;
“We have to move on. We will be very silly if this affects us in the next few weeks, so this is a difficult one we have to accept the reality and then we have to move on. We have to try to help the players and paint the reality of where we are. Today they played against a team that were the best at that level. Itβs who can keep at that level, that is the question.“
Having destroyed league leaders Arsenal, Manchester City’s title prospects are now firmly in their own hands.
