Introduced in the second half, Dele-Bashiru wasted no time in making an impact.

Just two minutes after Monza pulled one back through Stefano Sensi, the 24-year-old midfielder restored Lazio’s four-goal cushion with a composed finish in the 88th minute.

The strike marked his third Serie A goal in 15 appearances since joining Lazio on loan from Hatayspor last summer.

His performance did not go unnoticed, as Giulio Cardone singled him out for praise.

Speaking to Radiosei.it, the Italian analyst described Dele-Bashiru’s goal as an excellent finish and emphasised his growing influence in Lazio’s squad.

Cardone also highlighted the performances of Pedro and Castellanos, noting their technical quality and chemistry.

However, he suggested that Dele-Bashiru could be even more effective if paired with Nicolò Rovella and Mattéo Guendouzi against Napoli.

“Dele-Bashiru also came on very well, he scored a great goal, it would be very interesting to see him against Napoli together with Rovella and Guendouzi,” he said.

A purning point for Dele-Bashiru?

Despite a slow start in Serie A, Dele-Bashiru has been outstanding in the UEFA Europa League, recording two goals and two assists in six games to help Lazio reach the Round of 16.

His resurgence comes at a crucial time, with a high-stakes match against Napoli on the horizon.

With his growing confidence, Dele-Bashiru will be eager to secure his place in Lazio’s lineup while also catching the attention of Nigeria’s selectors ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe in March.
