Born to Nigerian parents in London, the 27-year-old forward, currently on loan from AS Roma, remains deeply attached to his roots despite pledging his international future to England, Footballrover reports.

In 2017, the AC Milan striker chose to represent the Three Lions over the Super Eagles after the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) made efforts to recruit him.

Since then, he has made 11 appearances for England, scoring three goals, but he has never lost his cultural connection to Nigeria.

Cherishing Nigerian roots despite England commitment

Abraham made his competitive debut for England in 2020, yet his Nigerian ties remain strong.

In a recent interview, the Chelsea Academy product revealed his fondness for the West African nation, sharing that he grew up surrounded by Nigerian friends and customs in his London neighbourhood.

He also highlighted how his mother regularly prepares Nigerian dishes at home, which keeps him connected to his family’s traditions.

Despite his choice to represent England, he holds his Nigerian roots close and continues to appreciate the culture that shaped his upbringing.

Eager to revisit Nigeria and relive the experience

Abraham’s deep affection for Nigeria extends beyond just memories and food—he is keen to return to the country.

Reflecting on his previous visit, he expressed excitement about visiting again soon to reconnect with his heritage.

I have a few Nigerian friends. I grew up in an area with many Nigerians. I was raised with that culture; I’ve been to Nigeria, and I hope to go back soon. My mom often cooks Nigerian dishes,” he told Milan TV.
