Super Eagles Star, Cyriel Dessers, on Wednesday evening displayed his goal-scoring prowess, coming as a substitute to lead Rangers to an impressive away victory in the Scottish Premiership.

In just 13 minutes on the pitch, the 28-year-old made a substantial impact, finding the back of the net and helping Rangers secure a dominating 5-0 triumph over Dundee, footballrover reports

The match at Dens Park was thoroughly one-sided, with the Nigerian international scoring a late goal, while Ryan Jack, Danilo, Sam Lammers, and James Tavernier also found the target.

While Dessers made an impactful cameo, his fellow Nigerian player, Leon Balogun, delivered a strong defensive performance, contributing to Rangers’ huge win.

Ryan Jack opened the scoring just five minutes into the game, giving Rangers the lead at halftime. Early in the second half, Abdallah Sima and Danilo combined brilliantly to net the second goal.

In the 74th minute, Danilo transitioned from goal-scorer to provider, setting up Sam Lammers for Rangers’ third goal.

Three minutes later, Cyriel Dessers replaced Danilo and quickly justified his introduction, scoring his third goal of the season within two minutes, taking the score to 4-0 for the visitors.

James Tavernier sealed the victory with a late penalty kick, completing the rout and securing three points for Rangers.

The convincing 5-0 win over Dundee now elevates Rangers to second place in the table with 24 points, just five points behind the league leaders, Celtic. Meanwhile, their opponents dropped to 9th place with only 11 points.

With this victory in the bag, Cyriel Dessers and his teammates now turn their attention to their upcoming fixture on Sunday, where they will face Hearts in the Scottish League Cup at Hampden Park.
