Just two minutes into the action at Easter Road on Saturday evening, Dessers calmly slotted a right-footed shot into the bottom left corner after receiving a smart headed assist from Nicolas Raskin, Footballrover reports.

The early strike gave Rangers the perfect start in a match that would eventually end 2-2 in dramatic fashion.

Following his match-winning performance in Rangers’ 3-1 comeback victory over Dundee United at Ibrox on Wednesday, Dessers once again proved why he’s the man of the moment.

His opener against Hibernian brings his season tally to 29 goals and six assists across all competitions.

This feat surpasses his previous campaign, where he notched 22 goals and seven assists in 54 appearances.

Since joining Rangers from Cremonese in July 2023, Dessers has amassed an incredible 51 goals and 13 assists for the club.

In the Scottish Premiership alone, he finishes with 18 goals and two assists, reinforcing his status as one of the league’s deadliest strikers.

Late drama as Dessers’ goal fails to secure three points

Despite Dessers’ early breakthrough, Rangers were pegged back in the 16th minute when Kieron Bowie equalised for Hibernian.

Leon Balogun’s injury early in the first half forced an early reshuffle, with Robin Pröpper stepping in.

Rangers regained the lead in the 50th minute through Raskin, who headed home from close range after James Tavernier whipped in a pinpoint corner.

But Hibernian responded once more—Martin Boyle’s close-range header, assisted by Nicky Cadden, ensured both sides shared the spoils.

Still, Cyriel Dessers’ goal against Hibernian was a key highlight, capping off a phenomenal season where he’s found the net in five straight matches, including against St Mirren, Celtic, Aberdeen, Dundee United, and now Hibernian.

Will he stay, or will he leave? The summer transfer window will reveal all.
