The Super Falcons have started their WAFCON journey in style — and Chiamaka Nnadozie can’t hide her excitement after thrashing Tunisia ladies on Sunday evening.

Nigeria’s trusted goalkeeper celebrated the Super Falcons perfect start against Tunisia, as goals from Asisat Oshoala, Rinsola Babajide, and substitute Chiwendu Ihezuo sealed a strong statement in Morocco, Footballrover reports.

After the final whistle, the former Paris FC goalkeeper summed up the mood in the Falcons’ camp:
“I feel so good; it was a good one, a good beginning for us,” she said.

The Falcons have now defeated Tunisia for the first time at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, having drawn 0-0 in their first clash back in 2008.
The nine-time African champions have made it a habit of starting WAFCON campaigns strongly.
Against North African teams, they remain dominant — winning 8-0 against Morocco in 1998 and 4-0 against Algeria in 2004.
“We respect them” – Nnadozie stays focused after victory
Despite the commanding win, Nnadozie knows there is more work to do.
“The Tunisians are not a bad side; we respect them so much. They played a very good game, but today (Sunday) was for us, and we hope to continue like this,” she said.

For the new Brighton women’s shortstopper, staying alert is key, even on a quiet day.
“There was not much to do behind, but it’s always good to stay concentrated because you never know what will happen.”
Next up, Chiamaka Nnadozie and her teammates will take on Botswana on Thursday, July 10.
Botswana lost 1-0 to Algeria and has history with Nigeria — the last meeting at WAFCON 2022 ended 2-0 for the Falcons.
With this WAFCON win, the Falcons have sent out a clear warning: they mean business, and Nnadozie is ready for whatever comes next.
