The Super Falcons of Nigeria have kicked off their 2025 Women’s African Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in solid fashion after thrashing their Tunisian counterparts in Casablanca, Morocco.

The Nigerians sent a strong warning to other African nations after their convincing 3-0 win over Tunisia, Footballrover reports.
Super Falcons strike early against Tunisia
Goals from Asisat Oshoala, Babajide Rinsola and Chinwendu Ihezuo were all the Nigerian female team needed to start their campaign on a strong note.
From the first whistle, the Falcons showed why they remain favourites at WAFCON tournament.

It took the Nigerian side just four minutes into the encounter to fire home the opening goal.
Babajide Rinsola whipped in a brilliant cross, and Asisat Oshoala rose highest to head it into the back of the net.
With that early lead, Nigeria’s women kept their momentum with slick passes and firm control, dominating the midfield, dictating the tempo and pushing Les Aigles de Carthage deep into their own half.
Rinsola and Ihezuo seal big WAFCON win
Though most of their passes in opponent’s 18-box failed to connect. Just three minutes of additional time to signal the first half, Rinsola finds the net to double the lead.

After a VAR review, Babajide Rinsola’s goal was given. Oshoala was initially judged to have fouled a player in the build-up, but the review showed no interference.
She capped it off with Diogo Jota’s signature celebration — a heartfelt nod to the Liverpool star, who sadly passed away on Thursday.
And just six minutes left on the clock, Chinwendu Ihezuo made it 3-0 for Nigeria, calmly slotting the ball into the bottom corner to finish off Tunisia and seal a perfect start to their 2025 journey.
