Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has been nominated once again for the Best Goalkeeper award in the French Arkema Premier League for the 2024/25 season.
The 24-year-old shot stopper, who plays for Paris FC, clinched the award last season after outperforming top rivals Christiane Endler of Lyon and Katarzyna Kiedrzynek of PSG, Footballrover reports.
She also made history as the first African and Nigerian to win both the Arkema League and the National Union of Professional Footballers’ Best Goalkeeper awards.
Chiamaka Nnadozie set for another goalkeeping glory
This season, Chiamaka faces tough competition once again from Endler and Mary Earps of Paris Saint-Germain.
Nnadozie has kept 10 clean sheets so far after leading Paris FC to a 4-0 win over Fleury Merogis U.S on Wednesday evening.
She has featured in 18 games, trailing Endler’s 13 but edging out Earps’ 8 clean sheets.
Despite the narrow margin, Nnadozie’s consistency, shot-stopping prowess, and leadership in goal continue to set her apart.
Since joining Paris FC in 2020, she has grown into one of the most respected goalkeepers in Europe, earning back-to-back CAF Awards for Best Goalkeeper in Africa.
Can Nnadozie defend her crown?
With the race heating up, it will surely be great to see Chiamaka Nnadozie get hold of the title once more.
Her nomination alone speaks volumes about her elite level, but a back-to-back win would further extend her legacy.
Whether she lifts the trophy or not, Nnadozie’s brilliance continues to inspire many young aspiring goalkeepers across the continent.
