Everton engine room – Alex Iwobi has continued his stunning form this season, inspiring the Frank Lampard side with an assist to win their first Premier League game of the season, beating West Ham 1-0.
The Super Eagles midfielder provided the assist in another brilliant performance, to help Everton earn their first league win of the season.
A stunning performance from the 26-year-old at Goodison Park saw him earn man of the match honour and rated highest – 8.2 in their narrow victory over David Moyes team.
It took a while for the game to get underway, and neither team presented a significant danger in the first half.
Quickly after the break, Everton launched a counterattack, and Maupay netted his first Toffees goal by hammering a shot into the near post.
Iwobi slid the ball into him as he was sandwiched between three West Ham players, but he kept control of it as he turned and promptly fired the shot.
As it slid into the bottom corner for his first Everton goal, Fabianski scampered across his line in an attempt to stop it but failed.
Even though Iwobi had the ball in a difficult situation, he managed to keep his head up and set up Maupay right inside the box.
