Fulham midfielder Alex Iwobi has expressed firm belief that the Super Eagles of Nigeria are ready to claim the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) title.
The Nigerian star says the team have both the quality and the confidence needed to finish the job they narrowly missed in Ivory Coast, Footballrover reports.

Iwobi, the most capped active Nigerian international, has played 91 times for his country and featured in three Africa Cup of Nations tournaments.
As the next edition in Morocco draws closer, he says the squad have grown stronger and more determined after the painful World Cup qualifying loss to the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The midfielder stressed that Nigeria’s push for a fourth continental crown will rest on two simple truths: the squad is strong enough, and the players believe in themselves.
“We were really close the last AFCON, but the only way we can improve on the last AFCON is to win it. We have the players to do it; we believe we can; we just have to prove it,” the midfielder said while speaking to AySuga Channel.
He also noted that speaking their success into existence is part of his mindset, adding that he feels confident about Nigeria’s chances against strong contenders like Ivory Coast and hosts Morocco.
“I would like to speak it into existence; I like to manifest. I want to say Nigeria (will win the Afcon).”
Super Eagles’ belief grows as AFCON countdown begins
Iwobi explained that coming close in the last edition has made the team even hungrier.
He believes that only a title win will show the progress made under the current group. With the tournament only weeks away, he says all that is left is to prove their quality on the pitch.
Among active players, only Kenneth Omeruo has more AFCON appearances than the Fulham man, giving Iwobi the experience to speak on Nigeria’s readiness.
He remains convinced that the moment for the Super Eagles to rise again is now.
