The Nigerian duo of Akor Adams and Kelechi Iheanacho were the standout performers for Sevilla in their preseason victory over Schalke 04 on Saturday afternoon.

Adams scored his first two goals for the Spanish side, while Iheanacho came off the bench to grab one himself, Footballrover reports.
Though it was a friendly match, the goals mark a significant step for both Nigerians as they continue to integrate into the team.
Akor Adams Bags First Sevilla Brace in Preseason Win
Akor Adams opened the scoring just four minutes into the game. After returning from a serious injury that had sidelined him for long, he wasted no time showing his ability.

Adams connected with Suazo’s volleyed cross and produced a well-timed header to beat the goalkeeper.
The Nigerian forward added his second goal in the 32nd minute, finishing confidently after Rubén Vargas applied good pressure on the opposition.
That brace gave the La Liga giants a 2-0 lead heading into halftime, and it was a strong statement from Adams in his first start under new coach Matías Almeyda.
Though these goals will not count as official competitive strikes, they are crucial in building Adams’ confidence ahead of the new season.
Kelechi Iheanacho Scores on Return as Sevilla Edges Schalke
Shortly after the break, Schalke pulled one back through Moussa Sylla in the 59th minute to make it 2-1.
In response, Iheanacho, who had come on at halftime to replace Adams, restored his team’s two-goal cushion just eight minutes later.

The Nigerian forward headed home from a precise cross by Agoumé.
Despite another late goal by Schalke’s Mauro Zalazar in the 84th minute to reduce the deficit to 3-2, the Spanish side responded quickly.
Marcao scored two minutes later to seal a 4-2 victory for the La Liga club.
Iheanacho, returning from a loan spell, will be encouraged by his goal as he continues to fight for a regular place in the squad.
What’s Next for the Nigerian Duo?
Sevilla will face Marseille in their next preseason fixture on Saturday, August 2.
Both Akor and Kelechi will be hoping to continue their goalscoring form as the team prepares for the new La Liga season.
