Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey were unable to emerge victorious over Chidera Ejuke and Kelechi Iheanacho when the three Nigeria Super Eagles players took the pitch to tackle one another in a preseason friendly between Fulham and Sevilla.
Iwobi and Bassey succumbed to their compatriots Ejuke in a narrow defeat in the preseason game played at the Estádio Algarve, Footballrover reports.
The Fulham stars were left disappointed after being crushed by Ejuke and Iheanacho’s team Sevilla in a 2-1 defeat.

The match, part of both teams’ preparations for the new season, saw just three Nigerian players in action.
While Iwobi and Ejuke have been in sparkling form for Fulham and Sevilla, respectively, neither could find the back of the net in this highly anticipated clash.
The spotlight was rather stolen by Sevilla’s Spanish forward, Isaac Romero, who bagged a brace to seal the win for his team.
Romero found the net just after the kickoff whistle and just before the first half break to hand Sevilla a 2-0 lead heading into the interval.
Before Fulham’s Emile Smith Rowe, making his debut as a substitute, pulled one back, but it wasn’t enough to change the outcome.

Despite Fulham’s dominance with their efforts on goal—with 12 attempts and four shots on target compared to Sevilla’s nine attempts and six shots on target—they couldn’t clinch a win.
Iwobi featured for 45 minutes before being substituted for Martial Godo at the start of the second half.
Calvin Bassey also made a cameo appearance but couldn’t turn the tide.
Ejuke started for Sevilla but was substituted in the second half for Dodi Lukebakio, while Iheanacho remained notably absent.
