A loss here would have equaled the longest losing streak by a country at the World Cup, set by Mexico between 1930 and 1958. Cameroon has lost their last eight games at the World Cup, with those losses occurring over four tournaments (2002, 2010, 2014, and 2022). (nine in a row).
The highest losing percentage of any team that has played at least 10 games in the competition belongs to Serbia, which has lost eight of its ten World Cup games as an independent nation (80%).
