Al-Jandal faced a tough challenge in their Saudi First Division clash against Al-Najma but managed to salvage a crucial point—thanks to Chisom Egbuchulam’s late brilliance.

The Nigerian forward once again proved his worth, finding the net in the 71st minute to secure a 1-1 draw at the Department of Education Stadium on Saturday afternoon, Footballrover reports.

Chisom Egbuchulam’s 8th goal rescues Al-Jandal

Chisom Egbuchulam, who has been in fine form, delivered his 8th goal of the season to ensure Al-Jandal avoided defeat.

It was back-to-back goals for the former Enugu Rangers star, having scored earlier in the week to inspire a 3-1 victory over Ohod at the Al Jouf University Stadium.

Despite their momentum, Al-Jandal struggled to break down Al-Najma’s solid defence.

The game remained tightly contested until Faisal Al Mutairi put the hosts ahead on the stroke of halftime.

However, Chisom Egbuchulam rose to the occasion once again, leveling the score 19 minutes into stoppage time and keeping Al-Jandal’s unbeaten streak intact.

Al-Jandal holds firm; eye next challenge

With this result, Al-Jandal recorded their fourth draw of the season, keeping them 10th in the league standings with 28 points.

Al-Najma, on the other hand, maintained their grip on third place with 37 points.

Chisom Egbuchulam and his teammates will now shift focus to their next challenge against Al-Batin on Wednesday, where they will aim to return to winning ways.

With his current form, the Nigerian forward remains a key figure in Al-Jandal’s push for a higher league finish.
