In an action-packed match between Gombe United FC and Kano Pillars FC, Yusuf Abdullahi stole the show with an incredible five-goal performance.
Starting with an early lead, Kano Pillars dominated the first half, with Abdullahi showing prowess in front of the net.
With an impressive hat-trick within 33 minutes and continuous contributions throughout, Abdullahi proved to be the driving force behind Kano Pillars’ commanding victory.
One of the craziest first halves in NPFL history saw the forward score four goals.
Yusuf Abdullahi swiftly put the visitors in the lead within the opening ten minutes of the game.
The 17-year-old then struck again just four minutes later, doubling Pillars’ advantage.
In the 17th minute, Gombe United FC managed to pull one back through Sadiq Shuaibu’s goal.
However, Kano Pillars remained unfazed as Yusuf Abdullahi secured his hat-trick in the 33rd minute.
Before the first half ended, Gombe United scored again, narrowing the gap to 2–3, with Ahmed Jimoh finding the net.
Just four minutes after that, the Kano Pillars extended their lead to 4-2, courtesy of Yusuf Abdullahi’s fourth goal before the break.
Remarkably, Mustapha Ibrahim assisted in three of these four goals for the Kano Pillars winger.
Returning for the second half, Kano Pillars continued their dominance, with Yusuf Abdullahi netting his fifth goal in the 59th minute, completing a remarkable display.

Yusuf Abdullahi single-handedly dismantled Gombe United with his five-goal spree; he literally spelled Gombe.
The Kano Pillars forward was close to equaling the record of Emem Eduok of the defunct Dolphins FC, who scored six goals in a match against the defunct Nembe City in 2014.
He also became the second player in the Nigeria Premier League to score a hat-trick this season after Robert Mizo of Bayelsa United against Akwa United.
