An assist from Wilfred Ndidi was a highlight, but it wasn’t enough to save Leicester City from a 2-1 home defeat against Aston Villa in Saturday’s Premier League clash.
The Foxes’ return to the Premier League hasn’t been the smoothest, with no wins in their first three games, leaving them with just one point and sitting in 15th place, Footballrover reports.
Aston Villa struck first in the 28th minute, and Jhon Duran doubled their lead in the 63rd.
But Leicester showed signs of life in the 73rd minute when the Super Eagles midfielder brilliantly set up Facundo Buonanotte to pull one back.

Despite Leicester’s best efforts to level the score, Villa held firm and secured all three points.
Ndidi’s assist adds to his growing contributions this season.
Recall the he opened his goal account during Leicester’s 4-0 demolition of Tranmere Rovers in the Carabao Cup earlier in the week.

Meanwhile, other Nigerian stars were also in action across the Premier League. Ola Aina and Taiwo Awoniyi featured for Nottingham Forest in their 1-1 draw with Wolves at the City Ground.
Aina played the full 90 minutes, while Awoniyi came on in the 90th.
Elsewhere, Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey helped Fulham earn a 1-1 draw away at Ipswich Town. Iwobi was substituted with just three minutes remaining.
And in another Premier League showdown, Joe Aribo featured for 82 minutes in Southampton’s 3-1 defeat at Brentford before being replaced by Adam Lallana.
