Victor Osimhen continued his fine scoring form ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations after finding the net once again for Galatasaray in their Turkish Super Lig clash on Saturday evening.
The Super Eagles striker scored Galatasaray’s third goal as the defending champions recorded a convincing 4–1 away win over Antalyaspor at the Corendon Airlines Park, extending his impressive run in Turkey, Footballrover reports.
Victor Osimhen Maintains Hot Form for Galatasaray
Osimhen struck in the 56th minute to cap a dominant team display, calmly driving into the box before firing a low shot beyond the goalkeeper into the bottom-right corner.
The finish highlighted his sharp movement and confidence in front of goal.
The 26-year-old has now scored in back-to-back Turkish Super Lig matches.
That effort took his league tally to six goals this season and 12 goals in 16 appearances across all competitions, including six goals in the UEFA Champions League.
Despite recording just 25 touches — the fewest of any outfield player to complete 90 minutes — Osimhen once again proved his efficiency in front of goal.
Galatasaray made a fast start to the contest. Leroy Sané opened the scoring in the seventh minute after latching onto a neat pass inside the area before finishing confidently.
Roland Sallai doubled the lead four minutes later, meeting a perfectly weighted through ball from Barış Alper Yılmaz and firing an unstoppable effort into the bottom-left corner from the edge of the box.
Osimhen Turns Focus to AFCON 2025 Duty
After Osimhen’s strike made it 3–0, Antalyaspor pulled one back in the 69th minute through Sander van de Streek, who reacted quickest to a rebound following a corner.
Any hopes of a comeback were ended soon after, as a slick exchange between Mauro Icardi and Sané allowed the German winger to add Galatasaray’s fourth with a composed finish, sealing a 4–1 victory.
With the league win secured, Victor Osimhen will now turn his attention to international duty as he prepares to join the Super Eagles camp ahead of AFCON 2025.
Galatasaray, meanwhile, will shift focus to their upcoming Turkish Cup fixture.
Osimhen’s form remains a major boost for Nigeria as expectations rise ahead of the continental tournament.
