Super Eagles’ star man, Victor Osimhen, crossed the 50-goal mark for Napoli with his brace in their UEFA Champions League clash against Frankfurt.
Napoli thrashed Frankfurt 3-0 at home to advance to their first Champions League quarterfinal with a brace from Osimhen and a goal from Zielinski.
Osimhen scored just before halftime by heading in Politano’s cross, and he added a second in the 53rd by sweeping in Di Lorenzo’s low cross.
Frankfurt did not pose a danger for the majority of the game, and when Zielinski was hauled down in the box by Sow later in the half, the situation only got worse.
The midfielder took advantage of the opportunity to score Napoli’s third goal and give the Italian team a magnificent 5-0 overwhelming victory.
With four goals in the Champions League, Victor Osimhen has already surpassed all other players in Napoli team’s history. He is flying high right now with 23 goals in 28 games this season.
There won’t be many clubs waiting in line to play Napoli in the next round of the Champions League as they continue to advance.
Spalletti’s team will now focus their attention in Serie A as they set to travel to Torino on Sunday.
This season’s trip to Europe by Frankfurt is over, and on Sunday they will go to Union Berlin to play in the Bundesliga.
