Super Eagles marksman Victor Osimhen scored a brace and his fourth Champions League goal to help Napoli qualify for the last eight (8) teams in the UEFA Champions League.
Osimhen’s brace was among the three goals scored by the Italian Serie A side against their Bundesliga counterparts, Eintracht Frankfurt, in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 match played at Stadio Diego Amando Maradona, Naples.
Napoli had won the first leg 2-0 away, reaching the quarterfinals of the European Elite Football Championship on a 5-0 goal aggregate.
The Nigerian International, Victor Osimhen, towered ahead of the three defenders of Eintracht Frankfurt with a right cross from Matteo Politano to nod in Napoli’s first goal of the match in the second minute of first-half extra time.
Osimhen became the first Nigerian player to score twice in a Champions League knockout game.
Giovanni Di Lorenzo laid the groundwork for Victor Osimhen’s brace in the 53rd minute of the second half.
Piotri Zielinski then made it 3-0 for Napoli from the penalty spot in the 64th minute of the second half to ensure the Italian giants qualified for the last eight of the Champions League on a record five goals aggregate.
